Foothill Palo Verde - Cercidium microphyllum
A large shrub to small tree, 15-25 ft. high and a wide. Leaves are pale green and divided into 4-12 pairs of tiny leaflets. Flowers are pale yellow and white and occur in early spring. This species is widely established in desert areas of the Southwest. It is often used as a slope and screen plant, and with age can be pruned to form a small, multi-trunked accent tree.
